NBC’s Minute to Win It

Brandon on March 11th, 2010

We are always trying to think up new games to use in our ministry.  NBC has done a great thing for youth pastors!  The new game show Minute to Win It (premiering this Sunday March 14, 2010) has between 60 and 70 doable games that can be used as youth ministry crowd breakers.

Check out the site Minute to Win It and look at the “Game Vault.” There are videos to show you how to play each game and written directions that you can copy and paste in a document, and a list of items required. This is a gold mine of game ideas!
Here’s an example of one of their videos:

Some Christmas Freebies

Brandon on December 16th, 2009

There’s a lot of Christmas Freebies floating around this year.  I thought I’d let you know about some before it’s too late.

Some of these are daily or every couple days.  Even if you missed a few of them, there’s still a lot of freebies left before Christmas.

Review: Race This! 2

Race This Vol. 2: Physical

Have you ever been to a professional sporting event where they have a race on the Jumbotron where everyone can pick one of three objects to cheer for? That’s was Race This! is, dot races for your youth ministry. I don’t know how many of you used Race This! Vol 1, but it was really well done and all in flash, but on this new volume the quality is stepped up a bit because instead of using flash to generate the races they are all video. This allows for much better graphics and images in the races. That was the thing that stood out to me the most, was just how great it looked. Usually I’m a big proponent of downloadable products, but this is one where I think it might be worth it to get the physical version instead. The way it’s setup is if you have the physical version you can play the races directly off the disk through a DVD player. This makes it super easy even just to play on a TV if are in a small room without a video projector. You can still load the video files up in your presentation software and play everything through the computer if you want also.

If you would like to try it out, you can download one of the games free here: Rhino Race.

You might also want to check out Race This! Vol 1 or get both Race This! Vol. 1-2.
